About Pumpkin

Pumpkin Cary was born in Knoxville, Tennessee and grew up in New Mexico. She has been drawing since childhood and among her favorite models are the feathered creatures which have influenced her in her personal studies.

Her instructors have been Garo Antreasian at the University of New Mexico in Printmaking and Bob Blanchard at Custom Etching Studios in Albuquerque, New Mexico. As her mentor, Blanchard introduced Pumpkin to the fine art of copperplate etching.

Because of her interest in taxidermy, Pumpkin is able to draw the muscular structure, veins and skeletons of her spiritual colleagues.

Pumpkin also creates beautiful painted tiles. Adorned with animals of every variety, these popular tiles can be seen and purchased here.
